So, what does 2023 hold for you or what plans do you have for 2023?

Unfortunately, or to the best of our knowledge, no such ‘mirror’ exist but what we can use to see the future are facts, figures and history—there’s nothing new under the sun, the world is a cycle.

 

And going by the facts, figures and history, 2023 is going to be another year of high cost of living (prices of food, rent, fuel, electricity, water etc. will go up) and global recession (size and production capacity of the economy will reduce)

 

 

The forces that will cause this high inflation and recession are conflicts (Russian-Ukraine war, terrorists attacks etc.), climate change affecting agriculture, European energy crisis, central banks policies and weakness in Chinese production.

 

Now, if wages and salaries were going up as cost of living was also going up, nobody would be complaining.

 

But the sad thing is that cost of living is increasing while salaries and wages are decreasing or staying flat.

 

This situation would have been understandable if the businesses and companies paying salaries and wages weren’t making profits from the goods and services they make and sell.

 

Companies are making a lot of profits, in fact, according to a Brookings report of some of the biggest companies in the world, profits rose by 41% but real wages rose by just 5% for workers.

 

 

Unfortunately, these business profits aren’t being translated into higher salaries and wages which in turn is making life harder for workers and employees all over the world.

 

Life will continue getting harder for workers all over the world in 2023

 

 

Except there’s going to be a revolution from workers and employees all over the world for better salaries, wages, benefits and working conditions, 2023 isn’t going to be good for anyone who is solely dependent on income from their salaries or wages.

 

If you’re a salary earner, you need to take action starting today to see that you don’t suffer in 2023.
